These cups will be the perfect vessel for your morning coffee or afternoon tea. They are made of speckled stoneware clay and have a capacity of about 300ml.
Each cup
starts its journey
in a pottery studio
in Copenhagen.
Handmade in a studio, situated in the middle of Nørrebro, north-west of Søerne. The entire journey takes about 1-2 weeks - this includes throwing, drying, glazing and firing.
With steady hands, the cups takes their shape, dipping in glaze, she seals their fate.
After the throwing and initial drying process, Tasja bisque fires the cups for about 5-8 hours. This partially solidifies the clay, priming it to be glazed. The cup without handle is dipped into a clear glaze, while the cup with handle is dipped into white. Tasja's pottery is known for its signature double rim base.
In the kiln to solidify,
out on the rack it sits to dry.
The second firing process fuses the glaze into the clay and further solidifies it. This is crucial as the fate of the cups are out of the Tasja's hands. Only after the 12-hour firing will she know if they have survived the extreme heat and not cracked.

After two gruelling weeks,
the clay has taken a new form and is ready to move into a new home.

The cost of each cup is £19.56.
At a typical retail markup of 2.5x; each cup would have been priced at £48.90. We have priced them at £29.
The sale of each cup brings in a profit of £9.44, which will contribute towards the company’s overheads, marketing and operational costs. This includes, and not limited to, monthly recurring bills, transaction fees, marketing expenditure, product development, digital platform services and team salary/allowance.
