A weekend in Somerset.

The inspiration behind the Somerset chore jacket.

By the sea,
as the sun sets.

“If I am a boat bobbing on the water, being tossed about by the winds and waves, and the entire ocean before me, I wonder what kind of captain I would be. Being able to lay my head down at night, knowing that even though everything is out of my hands, it will be for good - this is peace.”

Off the main road,
a lighthouse by the cliffs.

“To what end, that is the question. Contentment is not a weakness of my character or resolution, but a profound recognition of the human condition. To be able to say to myself "I have enough" is incredibly courageous. I want to smile everyday, enjoy the view, share and love others.”

As the early morning mist descended.

“Make no mistake - I am valuable and precious. I will not entertain the lie; there are no exceptions. Therefore no matter my upbringing, background or my current circumstance, my life's worth is equal to the next. I will celebrate and honour those around me - my life will carry the testimonies of others.”

Along the cliffs,
peering through time.

“The beauty of creation can never be replicated. What are the chances that seven billion people are uniquely different; not to mention the birds of the air, animals on the ground and in the sea, creatures that creep the Earth, every flower, tree and blade of grass I see. What about the billions of stars in our galaxy alone, and…”

As the sun peaks over the horizon.

“Surrender isn't synonymous with defeat - but knowing when to relinquish control to someone else who can do better - for the good of me and others. It is a marker of character, wisdom and strength. I will not be deluded by my prideful estimation of my capacity but make the pivotal decision to lower my drawbridge.”

From the fields
and farmlands.

“Keep in mind what have been done for us, built on all who have come before us. That I will live in remembrance and gratitude for the life I now have, paid for me. I will not live off the credits of the past but build a better future for the generations to come.”

Crackling of flames in the night.

“Unite ourselves! Humanity is not designed for division and war, but to love and be loved. Be one body, built up together in perfect harmony, so that we might experience the fullness of life. It is incredibly difficult to travel this road alone; I will raise my hand and ask for help, support a friend, love my enemy and smile, for the main event is about to begin.”
